While we already had some of the story information from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, we now have a few more thanks to a press release from Disney.
On Stranger Tides does indeed revolve around the search for the Fountain of Youth. But it's how that adventure begins that we now know.
It seems that Angelica (Penelope Cruz) finds our beloved Captain Jack Sparrow and rekindles an old relationship between the 2 of them. But Captain Jack does have concerns about her motives. It turns out that his concerns are valid as she forces him onto the Queen Anne's Revenge and into the hands of Blackbeard (Ian McShane).
It looks like it's Blackbeard that initiates the search for the Fountain of Youth and Captain Jack is only on the quest because he's forced there. I have a feeling that his compass is going to play a big role in things.
Also, it says in the press release that Astrid Bergès-Frisbey's character is turned into a mermaid, so she wasn't one to begin with. Which leaves Gemma Ward as the original mermaid maybe?
I'll keep my ear to the ground for more information as it becomes available.
And now that we know filming has started we might be able to track down more photos sooner than later.
